DVD Drive Slow?

I built my computer and am running the following:

Asus A7V8X MoBo

AMD Athlon CPU @ 2.167GHz

1 GB RAM

MSI Nvedia 128MB Video Card

disc ROM

DVD-R Drive.

Windows XP Home OEM

When origionally built, the CD Rom be Primary, and DVD-R was slave. When I removed the disc Rom, I jumpered DVD-R as the only drive. (No jumper needed.) and is connected to Secondary IDE. Now, my DVD-R runs much much slower than before. Example, it used to transport 6 mins to burn a DVD when I had both drives, and immediately it takes 45 mins. Can anyone backing me with this?

DVD Drive Slow?

you necessitate to go into dvdrom properties and set the maximum burn rate...biddable luck
