Format HDD?

im using vista how can i format my drive so i can install window xp back wen i try to it say cannot format this volume are there eny other ways of formating the tricky drive?

If your hard drive is big satisfactory, I would look into dual booting. This will give you the odds to learn Vista at your own step, while still enjoying a functioning computer near XP. My only reasoning at the rear this is that Vista will slowly loose its bugs and kinks but singular if it is installed and updating regularly. Also, now that Vista is here, XP will soon loose its support and compatibility, so ignore Vista completely is only prolonging the inevitable.

Put your WinXP CD within the CD-ROM and boot from CD. Should grant you the option to format the drive as capably. I usually select Quick format.



EDIT: You want to do a fresh install and not a repair.
Just put in the xp cd...reboot and choose the install and format chance!
