depends on what you'll need it for. graphics design? audio record? web surfing? I would progress for a 2.6 dual core with 2gb run into 200gb disk. thats plenty enough
If by 2.6 dual core you parsimonious 2.6 GHz Pentium D, I would go for the up to date technology 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo. It will be faster on average and cooler.
