Dual Core...Now QuadCore?

Recently I hear that they have already come out with a Quadcore Processor..Is this True?

i contemplate the intel one is just sticking to dual cores together and calling it quadcore. amd is developing a quad core but i surmise its still like a year away or so.

Quad core has be out for a while.. Intel release Extreme edition earlier this year I believe which contained 4 cores on one CPU die. I dont see a big point to this as of right immediately, unless intensive photo shop or process consuming programs that are coded for SMP are used. Gaming is the same near a 3 gig AMD/Intel next to Hypertransport or Hyperthreading, respectively..
Yeah it is true that they releaded it in november 2007. It is not a true quad cpu unlike the quad core from amd that will release within mid 2007. Amd has 4 processors that are on a single die but what they intel did be just make a payment two core 2 duo e6700 processors and added hyper-threading technology. Now they call qx6700 Q for quad and x for extreme.
