dual core and core 2 duo ?

i am confused is core 2 duo simply for laptop and dual core is for desktop ?

The Core 2 Duo is available for both laptops and desktops. The "Dual Core" is actually a lower finish dual core processor.
Dual core just manner that there are two processing cores inside one processor chip....

Core 2 Duo is a dual core chip from Intel and AMD athlon X2 is a dual core from AMD...

You can attain either of the dual core CPU's for your laptop...
Dual Core is a generic industry residence for having 2 CPUs contained by the same chip carton.



Core Duo is intel's first Dual Core chip for laptops



Core 2 Duo is a revision to Core Duo, but released for laptops, desktops, and servers. It's the best processor line out in that for any type of computing. The AMD X2 is incredibly outdated and does not compete with Intel's offerings. AMD is releasing a server chip at the closing stages of the year to attempt to compete, but Intel is also releasing a new smudge of chips. Core 2 Duo is the way to walk right now and will be for some time (at least possible 6 months).
